A drain cock is a faucet or a valve that controls or drains water from a tank’s lowest level. A drain valve fulfills the vital function of enabling surplus water vapor to escape into the atmosphere. Condensation removal aids in preventing corrosion, which can eventually harm the compressor and reduce its lifespan. All lifeboats, except free-fall lifeboats, must have at least one drain valve installed close to the lowest point in the hull. This valve must automatically open to drain water from the hull when the lifeboat is not in the water and close to prevent water entry when the lifeboat is in the water.
