BRP 313420 Valve, Reed – Brp (313420)

The function of the reed valve is to regulate the fresh gas intake in the crankcase and combustion chamber of the 2 stroke engine. It controls the flow of fluids to a single direction, opening and closing under changing pressure on each face. It is thin, flexible metal, fiberglass, or carbon fiber strips that are fixed on one end that opens and closes upon changing pressures across opposite sides of the valve. Always check for straightness or curling blades in perfect condition.
